Each with an idea of how they can individually make things better for themselves and their community and the drive to get it done. With integrity and conviction, they follow their inner voices, relentlessly pursuing rogue thoughts, new innovations, or revolutionary processes. Its about tough decisions, and consequences, both good and bad as a result of those decisions. Its about commitment and what it really takes to blaze your own path. Operating seemingly against all odds, these Mavericks often succeed. And when they do, they inspire the rest of us and in some special cases, awaken a Maverick in others.
Lets face it, Americans are basically “soft”. With the exception of the occasional natural disaster, we seldom face situations that demand any of us to be truly resourceful. Our cities and suburbs are filled with families who are so busy with their daily lives, they never give any thought to what they would actually DO should any of the society infrastructure we all take for granted suddenly disappeared for even a limited period of time. This TV Series focuses on one simple premise: Give adults realistic information about potential emergencies and the best way for “average people” to deal with these situations in a totally non-threatening way and they will make better decisions if and when they are ever faced with such a situation. The goal is to make the viewers 20% more self reliant by helping them formulate their own personal/family “Plan B” if they are every faced with any of the following: Natural Disasters, Terrorist Activity, Political or Financial System Disruption, or a variety of Health and Safety Concerns. This is pure and simple “mental preparedness”, not prepper thinking.
It’s a travel show with a very strong food/music twist that follows 4 intrepid musicians as they take a working/vacation cruise down the inter-coastal waterway from Jacksonville to Key West stopping at every recognizable beach/music venue they can find. Their “mission” is to find the best food, the best bars, and play (publically) with enough authentic beach musicians to add a completely new sound to their repertoire. As they travel, the carefree lifestyle, the casual locations, the pure joy of the music, and the contagious fun of the “beach crowd” starts to work a certain magic. As a group, they develop a passion for this new sound, and this new lifestyle, and re-invention becomes the order of the day… every day! As viewers, we watch it all happen and by the time their well worn topsiders have enough salt stains not to raise an eyebrow from the real sailors, the band has a new name, a new sound, and a passion to get the beach party started and keep it going till the rum runs out! As viewers, we have new songs in our play lists, and enough knowledge of the hot spots on the east coast of Florida to pick a favorite for our own next vacation.
